Chimney Rebuild
This house and chimney was originally constructed in 1799. The entire brick base was collapsing as shown in the photos. We were contacted by an architect who was concerned about the structural integrity. We installed a support system to hold three stories of chimney with four fireplaces, in place, while the failing base was carefully removed. New footings were poured and a concrete block, steel-reinforced new base was installed. This was then clad with a brick structure to duplicate the size and style of the original structure. The brick we used was a restoration brick that is made to duplicate the time period of the original construction.
